Music has been a universal language dating back to antiquity – before any type of written language even existed! It’s a wonderful way to communicate emotion across cultures and languages without difficulty.

In its most basic form music is a group of vibrations, energies or waves, which are also present in our bodies. We, along with everything around us, are composed of several vibrations. Our bodies in their most basic form, are simply millions of atoms moving at different frequencies or vibrations.

Perhaps this is why music can move us to experience such riveting emotions. Have you noticed the impact music can have on your mood or emotions? If a song comes on the radio from one of your most memorable summer road trips, you can’t help but start feeling giddy inside.

What about your creativity? Many say Einstein took long “breaks” at his piano while discovering the theory of relativity. It turns out that depending on what kind of music you listen to; not only your mood & emotions could be impacted, but also your creativity. 1

Several studies have shown that there is a clear correlation between music and mood. The type of music you listen to can have a dramatic effect on your state. 2

With this being said, it is clear that adding music to your yoga practice can bring you to a more relaxed and calm state. That is of course, if you are listening to the right yoga music.

We’ve gathered some yoga music playlists to help enhance your practice, allowing you to connect with your body on a deeper level and leaving you feeling more refreshed & rejuvenated.
